• Support Principal Investigators throughout the pre-award stage of sponsored projects • Prepare and submit fellowship and training grant proposals according to agency and university guidelines • Gather non-technical proposal components and compile accurate regulatory compliance data • Serve as liaison between PIs, the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences, and Department Administrators • Enter grant budgeting documents and obtain PI and institutional signatures • Provide internal notices of award and sponsor documents to Sponsored Projects Accounting and PIs • Monitor and coordinate annual agency reports, including RPPRs • Coordinate with Sponsored Projects Accounting for accurate and timely budget setup • Manage grant closure and forms processing • Coordinate responses to internal and external requests for grant-related information • Maintain an online database of submitted, awarded, and rejected grants • Resolve accounting issues and manage year-end processes • Support fund management and budgetary changes with PIs • Approve purchasing documents and provide guidance on grant-appropriate expenditures • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education • 2 years of relevant experience • Knowledge of RMS (Research Management System) preferred • Knowledge of agency guidelines preferred • Experience with accounting, computerized accounting, grant administration, grant applications, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Workday Software • Analytical thinking, deadline management, computer literacy, learning new technologies, maintaining composure, interpersonal communication, oral communications, and written communication • No specific certification/professional license required • Driver's license is not required
