📋 Description

• Responsible for the solar PV electrical engineering design work on assigned projects • Working with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities • Supporting company business development activities as it relates to renewable energy projects • Monitoring your project progress to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects • Solar PV system design including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground mount (fixed tilt and single-axis tracking) systems • Solar PV system energy production modelling • Developing solar construction and equipment specifications • Engineering calculations (NEC maximum system voltage, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection sizing, utility disconnect requirements, voltage drop, and conduit sizing) • Support drawing production - Solar PV system One line and three-line diagrams, Cable and Conduit Schedules • Bill of Materials PV system cost estimation and payback evaluations • DC and low to medium voltage power distribution design • Supporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning • Participating in and presenting engineering work at client meetings • Occasional travel to client and/or project site

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS in Electrical Engineering • 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience must include electrical design of commercial and utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems • Eight (8) years of engineering experience preferred • PE license preferred • Highly Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel desired • Experience with other software in the industry such as NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope • MV AC Collection System Design Experience • Proficient with the NEC, as well as related codes such as IBC and NFPA 855 • Strong Familiarity with utility practices, industry codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP etc.) • Able to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills (written and verbal) • Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish
