Ambry Genetics is a clinical diagnostic laboratory specializing in advanced genetic testing for hereditary cancer, rare disease, and other inherited conditions. 📋 Description

• Drive technical solutions from ideation through release, including estimating time and complexity • Design and develop custom software according to ticket specifications • Set team standards for excellence and mentor junior engineers • Provide clear and consistent feedback during code reviews • Meet with clients, partners, product owners, and stakeholders to understand and clarify workflows and requirements • Highlight development blockers and issues for timely resolution • Monitor processes and log information • Troubleshoot issues as needed • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus at least 5 years of work experience, Master's degree plus at least 2 years of work experience, or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field • Proficiency in Python coding • Intermediate-to-advanced experience working in Linux environments • Intermediate-to-advanced experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server • Proficiency with software engineering best practices, including Git version control, unit testing, and documentation • Knowledge of next-generation sequencing technologies and standard bioinformatics data formats such as FASTQ, BAM, VCF, and GTF • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud • Preferred: familiarity with Atlassian applications including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket • Preferred: knowledge of clinical genetics databases such as ClinVar and HGMD, and HGVS sequence variant nomenclature • Preferred: prior biology experience or understanding of mutation analysis • Preferred: experience creating and developing Docker containers • Preferred: experience developing APIs • Preferred: experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline
