📋 Description

• Review fraud alerts generated by the Bank’s monitoring systems for unusual, potentially suspicious, or fraudulent activity. • Conduct timely, accurate, and well-documented fraud investigations involving retail banking and digital payments activity. • Evaluate customer activity, transaction patterns, account behavior, and supporting documentation to determine risk-based actions, including escalation, closure, continued monitoring, or referral. • Identify fraud trends, typologies, control gaps, and emerging risks, and communicate observations and recommendations to management. • Document investigation findings, analysis, conclusions, and supporting rationale according to departmental standards, procedures, and audit expectations. • Assist with the preparation and filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). • Partner with BSA Operations, Fraud, Retail Banking, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and program manager stakeholders. • Perform or support adverse media, sanctions, PEP, and other screening reviews. • Maintain current knowledge of the Bank’s products, services, customer base, and geographic footprint. • Maintain proficiency in BSA/AML compliance requirements relevant to fraud monitoring, investigation, escalation, and suspicious activity reporting. • Provide verbal and written updates to management, business partners, and stakeholders regarding investigation results, risks, and recommended actions. • Assist with special projects, remediation activities, policy and procedure updates, process improvements, and control enhancements related to fraud prevention and monitoring. • Report suspicious activity identified while performing job duties.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in BSA/AML, fraud, financial crime compliance, or a related risk function within a financial institution. • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with card or payment channel fraud preferred. • Experience supporting audits, regulatory examinations, remediation efforts, or quality-control reviews preferred. • Strong working knowledge of fraud detection, alert review, investigation practices, chargeback risk, and digital payments risk. • Ability to analyze account activity, transaction patterns, customer behavior, and investigation evidence to reach logical, well-articulated, and well-supported conclusions. • Excellent analytical, investigative, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation of investigation findings, risk mitigation rationale, and recommended actions. • Tact, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information and communicating with stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams while maintaining sound risk-based judgment. • Highly organized with effective time management skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Familiarity with fraud and BSA/AML monitoring software such as Verafin, Unit21, or LexisNexis, or similar platforms preferred. • Clear and effective communicator. • Collaborative team player. • Detail-driven with a high level of accuracy. • Professional certification such as CAMS, CFE, CIA, or CRMA preferred. • Availability during Eastern Time business hours regardless of work location. • Compliance with applicable Bank Secrecy Act and, where applicable, OFAC requirements.
