• Guiding Engineering and Operations with defined plans for the implementation of new circuits and installation or modifications of existing facilities • Preparing high-level plans and specifications • Assuring that the most feasible, practical, and economical means to complete the work are considered and utilized • Providing cost data to support capital planning and budgeting • Collaborate with Engineering as they oversee the installation/construction and testing of plant facilities, in order to meet the required commitment dates • Assist with circuit design that interconnects the new platform with the legacy environment; TDM switches, Metro Ethernet devices, etc • Monitor the VoIP platform and initiate changes and enhancements as needed
🎯 Requirements
• Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience • 5 to 8 years plus related experience in telecommunications, engineering, or network planning or equivalent • Knowledgeable and skilled in planning /engineering specifically with VoIP and TDM switching technologies • Experience with VoIP routing and switching products, SIP Peering, Wholesale Interconnect, SS7 Trunks, and End Office Switch Replacement • Understanding of switch technologies and protocols, along with layer 2 and layer 3 routing through the network • Familiarity with Ribbon Neptune equipment • Ability to work with Planning, Operations, Labs, all internal customers, maintain budget, and assist with forecasting budgets • Excellent oral and written communication skills
