📋 Description

• You report directly to the Executive Board and assume overall responsibility for the maintenance and servicing of approximately 1,600 buses (diesel and electric) and around 700 employees across six depots. • Your area of responsibility includes maintenance of the bus fleet as well as central vehicle operations control. • You ensure that our capital remains mobile around the clock — with a clear focus on stability, effectiveness and efficiency in Berlin's public transport system (ÖPNV). • At the same time, you actively shape the further development of the business unit and the forthcoming change and transformation processes. • You ensure the technical reliability and availability of the vehicle fleet through an efficient and smoothly running workshop operation. • You work with internal and external stakeholders to advance the decarbonization of the bus fleet and the required infrastructure. • You are responsible for the independent and economical management of the business unit in decisions relating to personnel, materials, external services and infrastructure. • You further develop the business unit on a technical level and ensure the implementation of the necessary innovative vehicle projects and procurements. • You work constructively and in partnership with our employee representatives.

🎯 Requirements

• Technically competent and committed leader with relevant professional and extensive leadership experience in senior strategic and operational roles, and proven success in a similar position. • Completed academic degree (Master/Diploma) in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering/Management, etc.). • Alternatively: equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through several years of professional experience. • Willingness to undergo an enhanced security check (Ü2) under the Berlin Security Screening Act (BSÜG) is a necessary prerequisite. • We welcome a creative and courageous leader experienced in guiding change and transformation processes, with an inclusive and appreciative working style and a high degree of motivation and enthusiasm. • Experience managing complex organizational structures and collaborating with employee representatives, as well as the ability to quickly and confidently grasp complex issues and contexts, combined with strategic, entrepreneurial and innovative thinking and action. • Strong affinity for public transport and a broad understanding of the relevant strategic topics of a municipal service company, clear future-oriented visions for urban and rural mobility, and a solid technical interest. • Confident stakeholder communication, decisiveness and excellent persuasion and communication skills, a reliable manner, conflict-management ability and intercultural competence.
