📋 Description

• You report directly to the Executive Board and assume overall responsibility for approximately 1,500 employees in the subway and tram divisions, distributed across 6 main and operational workshops. • Your area of responsibility includes fleet maintenance as well as central vehicle control. • You ensure that our capital city remains mobile around the clock — with a clear focus on stability, effectiveness and efficiency in Berlin’s public transport. • At the same time, you actively shape the further development of the business unit and support the upcoming change and transformation processes. • You ensure high-performance, smooth workshop operations to maintain vehicle service on our tracks. • Responsibility for the technical reliability and availability of the rail vehicle fleet rests with you. • You provide efficient coordination of personnel, materials, external services and infrastructure — always with attention to economic and commercial aspects. • You steer and accompany vehicle procurement projects with an eye toward innovation and sustainability. • You further develop your business unit on a technical level and ensure the implementation of the necessary (innovation) projects.

🎯 Requirements

• A technically competent and committed leader with relevant professional and extensive management experience in senior strategic and operational roles and demonstrable success in a similar position • A completed academic degree (Master/Diploma) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, etc.) or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through several years of professional experience • Willingness to undergo an enhanced security check (Ü2) in accordance with the Berlin Security Examination Act (BSÜG) is a mandatory requirement • We welcome a creative and courageous leader experienced in accompanying change and transformation processes, with an integrative and appreciative working style and a high level of motivation and enthusiasm • Experience in managing complex corporate structures and working with employee representatives, the ability to quickly and confidently grasp complex issues and contexts, and strategic, entrepreneurial and innovative thinking and acting • Strong affinity for public transport and a broad understanding of the relevant strategic topics of a municipal service provider, clear future visions for urban and regional mobility, and a solid technical aptitude • Confident stakeholder communication, decisiveness and excellent persuasion and communication skills, authoritative presence, conflict management ability and intercultural competence
