• Support the Japan Team with policy research, partnership building and capacity development focused on sustainable finance and the transition to net zero • Coordinate activities and prioritise engagements (meetings, presentations, speeches) with the Japan Lead • Prepare and coordinate briefings, meeting agendas, presentations and speaking notes for the Japan Lead • Assess and summarise technical content and provide regular decision-useful updates • Conduct high-quality research on policy and market reports relating to climate finance and net zero transition, producing structured actionable summaries • Support policy research and contribute to policy development, providing data, insights and advisory input on sustainable finance and energy policies • Design, organise and facilitate workshops, seminars and training sessions; develop capacity-building materials and knowledge-sharing events • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, financial institutions and private sector stakeholders; coordinate with partners on certification and transition finance frameworks • Assist with coordinating project timelines, deliverables and stakeholder inputs to ensure alignment with organisational objectives
• Degree in relevant subject such as (Environmental) Economics, (Sustainable) Finance or (Environmental) policy • Experience in research and/ or advisory role in a relevant field • Demonstratable experience of providing actionable insights from research, especially to senior colleagues • Commitment to confidentiality, able to manage and process information with discretion and confidentiality • Ability to prioritise tasks and work at pace across a wide variety of topics • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent command of English and Japanese • Business Development and Stakeholder Management experience • Strong attention to detail and focus on high-quality delivery • Ability to understand, support and navigate the organisation • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, and evolving priorities • Team work and communication skills • Location: based in Japan • Desirable: Policy experience in a relevant field • Desirable: Ability to handle and synthesize complex data • Desirable: Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
