📋 Description

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers building StrongDM’s proxy and control-plane platform, including hiring, coaching, and career development • Translate product and engineering roadmaps into operational plans and guide execution and delivery across StrongDM and the broader Delinea Platform • Determine staffing and resourcing needs to meet project schedules and goals • Partner with engineering managers, product managers, architects, and DevOps/SRE leadership to align priorities and present results and recommendations • Manage day-to-day engineering team work across gateways, relays, and control-plane services, balancing feature delivery, technical debt, and platform reliability • Own delivery of the roadmap for distributed systems written in Go (Golang) across AWS and multi-cloud environments • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning for direct reports • Oversee code and design reviews for performance, security, and maintainability, including secure network protocols and cryptographic systems • Collaborate to define and prioritize the roadmap while ensuring compliance with security and privacy requirements and platform standards • Champion engineering best practices and Infrastructure as Code, fostering continuous improvement and mentorship

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field • 2+ years of experience directly managing or leading software engineering teams, in addition to a strong hands-on engineering background • Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience and distributed systems • Experience guiding teams through cloud infrastructure such as AWS and secure, high-scale network services • Ability to translate roadmaps into actionable plans, set priorities, and manage resourcing to meet deadlines • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, identity management, and policy-based authorization approaches such as Cedar • Experience with secrets management and credential brokering is desirable • Background in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CI/CD pipeline management is desirable • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, just-in-time access models, and multi-cloud deployment using AWS, Azure, or GCP is desirable • Candidates are required to complete a comprehensive criminal background check, verification of education, and verification of employment upon conditional offer
