đź“‹ Description

• The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization focused on saving lives and reducing disease burden in low- and middle-income countries. • CHAI works with governments and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. • The Global Markets Team (GMT) strives to build healthy marketplaces to ensure the sustainable supply of vital medical commodities; negotiates access programs, licensing agreements, product development agreements, and volume guarantees. • Example market-shaping efforts include price reductions, negotiations, and new agreements to improve access to vaccines and HIV testing. • Position overview: Associate Director will lead market-shaping activities for GMT related to SRMNH and other priority areas, design and maintain supply-and-demand strategies, and coordinate with suppliers and partners. • This role could be based in the US or in a CHAI program country; requires at least 25% travel.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus 10 years work experience; or Advanced Degree or equivalent plus 8 years work experience; or equivalent work experience • Experience working in the private sector, ideally in strategy consulting, sales and marketing, and/or investment banking or similar fast-paced, results-oriented environments such as in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic or medical device industries • Exceptional analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills; detail oriented • Creative thinker, enabling development of transformational solutions to global health problems • Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new ideas • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment; demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly, externally and internally • Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, including financial, regulatory, pharmaceutical, and scientific information • Willingness to travel frequently • High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word • Exceptional communication skills with ability to diplomatically and clearly communicate complex ideas with well-developed structure and logic • Ability to navigate complex government processes and favourably influence decision-making in a professional and collaborative manner • Ability to work with humility and not seek personal credit for the work or contributions, even where credit is due; commitment to ensuring our government partner is the owner of our work together • Ability to manage staff and develop coherent programs with substantial ambiguity and changing circumstances • Ability to lead as a team player, mentor, manager, and role model, demanding top performance from self and in partnership with the entire team • Highly developed strategic perspective with a simultaneous ability to focus on the details • Well-developed quantitative and analytical skills with ability to develop and apply quantitative models including use of Excel and other tools to address specific challenges and improve working practices with a focus on outcomes • Ability to create compelling, logical presentations, using PowerPoint and other communications media • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and achieve maximum impact and efficiency with limited human and financial resources.
