📋 Description

• Keeping scheduled watches in the ECR (engine control room) and work in ER during the overtime period • Reporting any machinery defects affecting safe and environmentally sound vessel operation. • Ensuring all engine room safety equipment is in optimal condition. • Conducting proactive maintenance and repairs. • Creates requisitions and performs periodic inventory of spares and consumables related to area of responsibility • Updating the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with clear records. • Supervising and guiding crew members. • Promoting safe working spaces. • Handling equipment with care. • Reporting incidents to superiors. • Directly in charge about particular groups of equipment, which can include air compressors, boilers, economizers, R.O. plants, evaporators, purifiers, etcetera. • Familiar with Chief Engineer’s Standing Orders and with CCS Safety Management System. • Acts according to the Muster List during emergencies.

🎯 Requirements

• National Second Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC III/2 unlimited) as per STCW regulations • 24 months sea time as 3rd watchkeeping Engineer • Good knowledge of maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC) • Good knowledge of the requirements under USPH (USCG knowledge beneficial) • Fluent command in English • Certificates according to STCW
