âą Keeping scheduled watches in the ECR (engine control room) and work in ER during the overtime period âą Reporting any machinery defects affecting safe and environmentally sound vessel operation. âą Ensuring all engine room safety equipment is in optimal condition. âą Conducting proactive maintenance and repairs. âą Creates requisitions and performs periodic inventory of spares and consumables related to area of responsibility âą Updating the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with clear records. âą Supervising and guiding crew members. âą Promoting safe working spaces. âą Handling equipment with care. âą Reporting incidents to superiors. âą Directly in charge about particular groups of equipment, which can include air compressors, boilers, economizers, R.O. plants, evaporators, purifiers, etcetera. âą Familiar with Chief Engineerâs Standing Orders and with CCS Safety Management System. âą Acts according to the Muster List during emergencies.
âą National Second Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC III/2 unlimited) as per STCW regulations âą 24 months sea time as 3rd watchkeeping Engineer âą Good knowledge of maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC) âą Good knowledge of the requirements under USPH (USCG knowledge beneficial) âą Fluent command in English âą Certificates according to STCW
