📋 Description

•This is a remote position. •While the position is remote, the successful candidate will be required to work from and reside within the European Union or United Kingdom. •cQuant is seeking an Energy Analyst II to assist with software implementations, ongoing customer support, and maintenance/enhancements related to the analytical models within its web-based energy analytics platform. •The Energy Analyst II will interface directly with cQuant’s users, helping to instill best practices in quantitative modeling for portfolios amid the energy transition and enabling these users to realize maximum value from the cQuant solution. •The Energy Analyst II will also work closely with various other departments within cQuant, including sales and marketing, quantitative development, and platform software, to assist in development, validation, quality assurance, and documentation of new energy-focused analytical products and features. •The direct client-facing nature of the role will require the successful candidate to demonstrate both strong technical and problem solving abilities as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

🎯 Requirements

•Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, economics, physics, quantitative finance, engineering, or other) or a Bachelor’s degree along with 2+ years of relevant wholesale electric power industry experience in a quantitative role. •Have a solid grasp of statistics and time series analysis concepts including probability distributions, regression models, and stochastic processes. •Have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable interacting directly with clients to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. •Demonstrate familiarity with R (preferred) or Python (accepted) code development and maintenance, with particular emphasis on troubleshooting/debugging and resolving runtime errors. •Be highly detail oriented and know how to validate their own work to ensure accuracy. •Display a genuine passion for analytics, data, and software engineering while maintaining a user-centric mindset with emphasis on the end-user experience. •Be familiar with wholesale energy industry concepts including renewable and thermal generation, battery storage, deal structuring, etc. •Be conversant in basic financial structures including swaps/forward contracts, European options, and other elementary financial derivatives. •Have experience developing software/analytical models with an eye toward code maintainability and robustness. •Have at least a working knowledge of the R programming language for both analysis and data visualization.
