• Manage construction processes for new, relocated, expanded, remodeled, renovated, rebuilt, and reopened stores • Visit store project sites to confirm landlord construction progress and maintain schedules • Manage 30–50 projects per year across varying project types, costs, and complexities • Conduct site visits, project kick-off meetings, turnover inspections, construction issue tracking, and final project punchlists • Provide cost estimates for new projects submitted to the Real Estate Committee • Communicate with landlords and internal Dollar Tree partners about project timeliness and store openings • Keep internal and external stakeholders updated on project status • Conduct project autopsies to identify lessons learned and recommend process improvements • Monitor construction progress, costs, quality, budgets, and financial standards • Hold landlords, architects/engineers, and general contractors accountable for timely, on-budget delivery • Maintain construction key dates and upload construction documents into the SLM program • Solicit, qualify, onboard, train, and manage general contractors • Review contractor bids and recommend general contractor selection • Award construction contracts with the Director of Store Construction after cost variance analysis • Manage construction contracts, scheduling, change orders, project closeout, punchlist items, and warranties • Analyze and challenge RFC/change-order costs and supporting documentation • Perform special projects assigned by the Director of Construction
• Must reside in Ohio • 5–10+ years of construction project management experience in the retail industry • Experience with tenant improvement and new, ground-up construction • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously across a multi-state territory • Minimum 5 years of ground-up building construction experience for a retailer or general contractor • Ability to travel approximately 50%-75% of work time as required or directed • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, primarily Excel and Word; PowerPoint preferred • Technical training and/or experience with building code, estimating, mechanical, electrical, and/or structural disciplines • College degree in a construction-related field • Familiarity and prior involvement with store fixturing, planning, operations, and/or merchandising • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent oral and written communication skills
