📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance the Validus product, which provides trade surveillance, monitoring, and analysis capabilities for financial institutions • Develop, maintain, and improve complex data-driven software components and systems, focusing on C++ and Python • Drive architectural direction by evaluating solutions and technologies, especially cloud technologies and architectures • Develop testing infrastructure and write automated tests • Assist the operations team with debugging and remediating live production issues, incorporating improvements into the product • Develop internal tools for deployment, administration, and monitoring • Work with the product team to understand and refine feature specifications • Develop and refine software development standards, best practices, and processes • Interview candidates for other team roles

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or another technical discipline • 5+ years of experience solving complex problems with sophisticated distributed, data-driven, highly performant software applications • Proficiency in several programming languages, including at least C++ and Python • Experience with AWS or other cloud technology stacks and cloud architectures • Experience improving development, quality, release, and deployment processes • Experience integrating third-party software systems and writing components from scratch • Ability to evaluate appropriate technical directions and solutions • Experience with relational databases and solid understanding of SQL and core relational database concepts • Experience using Linux and working effectively in a shell environment • Ability to write shell scripts and one-liners, while recognizing when a solution should be implemented beyond shell scripting • Experience with Git or similar source code management software • Ability to work effectively remotely • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Excellent communication and task management skills
