• Role: Senior Product Designer • Reports To: Director of Product • Supervisory Responsibility: This role currently does not have direct reports. • Ideal Start Date: ASAP • Location: Local candidates in the Denver or NYC metro areas • Time Zone: This role requires collaborating with engineers based in India, so some meetings start at 7am MST / 9am EST. • Travel: Limited travel, as needed to client locations. Note, Knit does US All Team, in-person company events once per year. • Overview: We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to own critical parts of the Knit platform and help us push the boundaries of what's possible in AI-powered research. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role responsible for driving end-to-end product development—from problem discovery through design, execution, and iteration. As the most senior designer on the team, you’ll be expected to operate autonomously, define ambitious product goals, and translate insights from users into elegant, scalable solutions. You will also play a key role in building our design system in Figma and leading user discovery efforts. • Responsibilities | Outcomes You Will Own: • Product Discovery & Research: Lead discovery with customers to deeply understand their workflows, pain points, and needs while continuing to define and refine Knit’s Product Vision; Plan and conduct regular interviews and usability tests to validate ideas and gather feedback - becoming the go to person for design tests with customers; Synthesize insights into user flows, wireframes, journey maps and prototypes to inform product direction and engineering requirements. • Collaborate and Drive the Product Roadmap: Working closely with a Product Manager, own and evolve the roadmap for critical areas of the Knit platform (e.g., report generation, research automation, AI workflows); Work cross-functionally with Engineering and AI teams to drive execution and deliver value to our customers; Prioritize ruthlessly—focus the team on what matters most and keep them aligned on goals. • Design System Leadership: Build and maintain our core design system in Figma in collaboration with design and engineering partners; Champion design consistency usability across the product - you are ultimately responsible for the user experience of the areas you own; Partner with engineering to ensure implementation fidelity and rapid iteration. • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Serve as the voice of the user in daily standups, sprint planning, and retros; Build tight relationships with GTM teams (Sales, Marketing, CS) to ensure product success post-launch; Present ideas and working prototypes to the entire company, including at quarterly reviews or check-ins with other departments.
• 7+ years of design experience, with at least 3 years in high-growth startup environments (Series A or B) • Proven ability to ship B2B SaaS products from scratch—end-to-end ownership across discovery, design, development, and launch • Deep experience with Figma —not just using it, but building design systems, component libraries, and partnering with designers to scale design processes • Strong track record of leading B2B user research: conducting interviews, usability testing, and turning qualitative insights into actionable plans • Comfortable collaborating deeply and independently with engineers and AI teams—you don’t need to code, but you ask the right questions • Skilled at managing ambiguity and complexity; you bring clarity and focus, especially when stakes are high • Having been the first design hire at a company • A background in setting up a user research and testing strategy from scratch • Building a design system other designers and engineers have utilized • Experience building tools specific to the market research industry • Exposure to AI/ML products
• Competitive salary and equity options • Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision) • 401(k) plan • Access to Industrious offices worldwide as part of our company membership • A company laptop and an onboarding technology stipend • Flexible Paid Time Off • Opportunity to make a foundational impact at a rapidly growing, AI-native startup.
