📋 Description

• Lead complex modelling and analytical projects of broad and diverse scope • Drive cross-product initiatives with minimal direction • Set the technical approach for ambiguous problems • Raise the bar for the data science team • Combine deep learning, large language models, and traditional data science techniques to create hybrid models • Brainstorm, prototype, prove, deploy, and realize the value of work quickly • Apply big data, federated learning, unstructured data, timeseries and sequence modelling, GLMs, XGBoost, and Transformers • Communicate data insights to customers, stakeholders, and prospects to drive business results • Spearhead new projects and contribute reusable systems, packages, and frameworks • Mentor junior data scientists and improve team standards

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field and 5+ years of professional data science experience building predictive models, or a Master’s or Ph.D. and 3–5 years of such experience • Advanced proficiency with deep learning frameworks and the core Python data science ecosystem • Deep understanding of modern AI architectures, including Transformers, Neural Networks, and LLMs • Strong technical communication and collaboration skills with nontechnical stakeholders and engineering/product teams • MLOps experience taking models from notebook to production • Experience with experiment tracking, packaging, Docker containerization, model serving and APIs, CI/CD, and pipeline orchestration • Experience monitoring production models for data drift, concept drift, and performance degradation with alerting • Strong peer leadership and ability to mentor junior data scientists • Experience setting and improving team standards • Fluency with actuarial methods and working with actuaries is a plus • Familiarity with healthcare and medical data • Familiarity with underwriting and claims, or predicting long-tailed and/or rare events
