• Develop the strategic direction into a strategic plan with two-year implementation strategies in coordination with coalition co-chairs and leadership. • The ED will be responsible for establishing and delivering on clear goals, objectives and tactics as established in the strategic plan, and delivering on high-impact campaigns. • Design and oversee a measurement and evaluation effort to ensure impact, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals. • Adapt to emerging political, cultural, and economic dynamics, ensuring that All In stays relevant, nimble, and responsive. • Identify gaps and opportunities to add capacity to the field. • Hire and manage a team of approximately 10 staff with expertise spanning coalition building, international climate diplomacy, communications, campaign management, research, private-public partnerships, and events. • Oversee all aspects of All In’s internal management and programs, which include both domestic and international workstreams. • Ensure alignment between All In’s governance and execution. • Work with assigned staff at All In’s administrative project home to oversee all aspects of organizational operations, including budgeting, fundraising, HR, and legal. • Manage organizational relationships with consultants, contractors, and technical assistance providers. • Cultivate and maintain a positive staff culture, supporting staff morale, and making All In a great place to work. • Model and foster a culture grounded in collaboration and partnership. • Build and maintain systems for feedback, learning, and continuous improvement across the team and with partners. • Invest in leadership development, active learning, and skill development. • Cultivate and steward relationships with key external partners—including co-chairs, city and state networks, international actors, business alliances, academic institutions, and climate organizations—to strengthen coordination and amplify collective impact. • Engage regularly with senior representatives of member organizations to ensure alignment, partnership health, and shared ownership of the coalition’s strategy and outcomes. • Lead the development of an external engagement strategy that positions All In as the authoritative voice of U.S. subnational climate leadership. • Ensure that coalition outputs—reports, events, campaigns, and announcements—reinforce the visibility and credibility of mayors and governors as central drivers of America’s climate leadership. • Represent All In in dialogues with international partners and networks to showcase the U.S. model of whole-of-society climate action.
• At least 12 years of relevant experience is required, including significant experience working directly with mayors, governors, or other elected leaders to advance shared priorities and navigate complex political and policy environments. • A passion for advancing climate solutions. • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, strategic planning, and decision-making skills. • Experience building, leading, and working within coalitions. • You are someone who has a low ego and thrives in a collective action environment. • An alignment builder with a demonstrated capacity for finding consensus across disparate perspectives and arriving at common ground. • Experience working in state and/or local government is strongly preferred. • Experience in stakeholder and partner outreach and engagement, with a track record of cultivating strong relationships with advocacy, policy, private sector, and grassroots leaders. • Exceptional ability to analyze information, formulate plans, and adapt plans and tactics as conditions change. • Public speaking and on-the-record experience. • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse internal and external stakeholders. • Strong financial and operational acumen, including budget oversight, 501c3 compliance, grantmaking, and cross-functional management. • Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Experience working internationally is preferred, not required. • Experience using CRMs for information management and reporting is preferred, not required. • Experience working on climate change related issues and/or policy, with an established professional network and reputation in the field.
