📋 Description

• Partner with the Philanthropy, Accounting, and Program teams to support the financial management of grants, ensuring budgets and forecasts reflect funder requirements and program goals. • Track and analyze spending and funding progress across grant portfolios, providing insights into budget utilization and financial performance. • Support compliance and reporting needs by providing financial context and analysis for grant-related reporting and audit requests. • Work closely with the Director of FP&A, Philanthropy, and Partnership teams to support revenue forecasting and modeling. • Partner with teams across the organization to support the development, monitoring, and refinement of budgets and forecasts. • Contribute to the preparation of internal reports and presentations for leadership and key stakeholders. • Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes, including optimizing FP&A systems, data workflows, and process documentation to enhance consistency, transparency, and scalability.

🎯 Requirements

• Motivated by the Khan Academy mission “to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere." • Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization. • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related finance roles. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations. • Experience building and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial models. • Advanced Excel (or Google Sheets) modeling skills and strong systems expertise across FP&A and ERP platforms (example, Workday Adaptive, Sage Intacct, NetSuite). • Experience partnering across functions and communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders. • Strong project management, organization, and communication skills. • Familiarity with GAAP, particularly revenue recognition (ASC 606) and fund accounting principles (ASC 958) as applicable to nonprofit organizations. • Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment. • Team player with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. • Flexible, curious, and eager to learn—comfortable adapting as processes and systems evolve. • Continuous improvement mindset—always seeking to make systems, processes, and outputs better. • Passion for Khan Academy’s mission to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
