📋 Description

• Oversee daily operations of construction sites in rural Alaska, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, utilizing CM principles to optimize efficiency. • Supervise and oversee subcontractors, laborers, and material deliveries in remote locations. • Support and assist with the recruiting and hiring of local labor for construction projects. • Liaise with local communities, tribal organizations, and government agencies to ensure project alignment with cultural and regulatory requirements. • Monitor progress, resolve on-site issues, and report to project managers. • Oversee construction activities to ensure that they follow designs and specifications, working with Kuna’s engineers and architects to resolve design issues and answer questions. • Ensure adherence to OSHA and Alaska-specific safety regulations. • Manage logistics for equipment and materials in areas with limited infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-7 years as a Job Superintendent or similar role, managing construction projects with increasing responsibility. • 3-5 additional years in challenging environments like rural Alaska, mastering unique logistics, extreme weather, and cultural/community coordination. • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and project management tools (e.g., Primavera, Procore). • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts. • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Familiarity with Alaskan environmental regulations and cultural sensitivities. • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and adapt to limited connectivity or resources. • Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel and live in remote locations for extended periods. • OSHA 30 certification preferred; Alaska-specific certifications a plus. • Advanced acumen in use of MS Suite, Blue Beam Revu, other AEC Software as required. • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing/walking for extended periods.
