📋 Description
• Lead our Network Operations team through infrastructure modernization initiative • Shape careers of network and software engineers, creating high-performance culture • Lead transformation from physical data centers to cloud-native network architecture • Champion automation using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices • Own strategic roadmap for right-sizing physical POP footprint • Design network solutions that are secure and scalable • Bring hands-on expertise with Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and data center infrastructure • Architect and optimize AWS cloud networking • Protect 99.999% uptime through proactive monitoring and sharp incident response • Manage Marqeta's corporate network infrastructure
🎯 Requirements
• 7+ years of network engineering experience in production environments and at least 3 years leading and developing technical teams • Hands-on Cisco expert — deeply comfortable with switching platforms and routing protocols like BGP and OSPF • Experience architecting and managing Palo Alto Networks firewall deployments • Deep, practical knowledge of AWS cloud networking — VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, CloudFront, Route53 • Track record of owning and maintaining high-availability networks at 99.9%+ uptime • Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices • Strong foundation in network automation, scripting, and DevOps practices • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent expertise through hands-on experience
