📋 Description
• Create and implement a paired {protocol: datapoint} SQL database for labware tracking at the well level • Design and develop optimization algorithms (ML, Bayesian, and mechanistic) for model-in-the-loop parameter prediction and system performance improvement • Build GUIs and APIs that empower both human and AI scientists to interact seamlessly with data and models • Develop and integrate software components with hardware and robotic systems, ensuring smooth and reliable operation • Work closely with cross-functional teams — including developers, hardware engineers, and researchers — to define requirements and deliver cohesive, integrated solutions • Maintain detailed technical documentation for database design, integration processes, and modeling results.
🎯 Requirements
• Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field or equivalent practical experience • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database design, or algorithm development • Strong programming skills in Python • Expertise in SQL and database architecture • Proven experience designing and deploying machine learning or optimization algorithms • Familiarity with hardware–software integration, scientific instrumentation, and data modeling • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines • Bonus points for experience with Bayesian modeling or robotics • Familiarity with UX for technical users (GUIs, Jupyter notebooks) • Knowledge of CI/CD, cloud deployment, or scientific computing tools.
