📋 Description

• Administer, maintain, and optimize relational databases with a focus on PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and PaaS solutions such as Amazon RDS, Azure Synapse, Huawei DWS, etc. • Contribute to defining data modeling, versioning, and governance standards to ensure platform performance, security, and scalability. • Develop automations for maintenance routines, backups, monitoring, and capacity management to improve operational efficiency. • Handle complex incidents and requests, proposing permanent solutions and continuous improvements in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams. • Provide technical guidance to product and engineering teams on efficient database usage and best practices for access patterns, data modeling, and tuning. • Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues related to performance, availability, and data integrity in mission-critical, high-transaction environments. • Support the evolution of the company’s data strategy, including migration to managed services, elasticity, and architectural modernization. • Assist in driving compliance, information security, and policies for access to sensitive data. • Actively participate in database migration projects across platforms, evaluating compatibility, data modeling, performance, and operational impacts when transitioning workloads between different DBMS technologies.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with: administration and tuning of PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases in mission-critical environments. • Cloud database (PaaS) solutions such as Amazon RDS, Azure Synapse, and Huawei DWS. • Data migration and replatforming projects, especially migrations from SQL Server to PostgreSQL. • Performance troubleshooting, execution plan analysis, and optimization of complex queries. • Management of backups, restores, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery. • Knowledge of: relational data modeling and normalization. • Database monitoring and observability tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch). • SQL, T-SQL, and PL/pgSQL programming languages. • Script versioning and deployment via CI/CD (e.g., GitLab). • Familiarity with: data architectures in multi-cloud environments. • Database security practices, including access controls, encryption, and auditing. • Best-practice frameworks such as ITIL, DevOps, or DataOps.
