📋 Description

• Lead a team of strong engineers building high-scale, highly reliable data processing systems • Set the team vision and roadmap, strategically connecting the goals of the company and our product to the team’s short and long term deliverables and navigating competing organizational priorities • Effectively partner with a diverse group of stakeholders to enable healthy and impactful collaboration among teams • Monitor and proactively address any drain on the team's productivity and efficiency, ensuring the team can focus the majority of their efforts on innovation • Hire and grow a diverse, high-performing team of top-tier data engineering talent to this team • Provide direct, candid, and effective feedback to channel their strengths to impact and address their growth areas

🎯 Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of experience of engineering leadership, ideally leading data-focused teams in high-scale data processing • Sharp technical acumen with a solid understanding of modern distributed systems and their capabilities and limitations • Experience building data products, services, and workflows that provide high-quality and highly reliable data to customers • A knack for recognizing and attracting top-tier engineering talent • Understanding the importance of building an amazing team that is additive and diverse, and can deliver incredible impact to the business • Excellence in communication: Setting context with the team, stakeholders, partners, and leadership • Ability to communicate effectively, directly with candor and authenticity • A leadership style that prioritizes giving and receiving direct and honest feedback, fosters and cultivates innovation, empowers and encourages independent decision making, and obsessively avoids micromanagement • A BS in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline
