• Develop with AI: Build quality software, identify best sources of intelligence for applications, design for robustness and continuous improvement • Leverage data: Fuse internal and external data (e.g. hurricane forecast) to provide optimal decision support to call takers • Work across the stack: Leverage AI to build components outside your comfort zone • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other software developers, data engineers, and emergency response professionals, to integrate AI solutions into the RapidSOS platform • Innovation: Stay updated on the latest AI advancements and assess their applicability to enhancing public safety • Develop AI-driven solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency call centers and directly impact call takers and stakeholders
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field • Strong programming skills in Python • Experience with leveraging modern LLMs • Production experience with LLMs, including debugging, performance management, continuous improvement • Proven experience in delivering projects end to end in collaboration with stakeholders • Ability to adapt and tackle a wide range of challenges, even in unfamiliar tech stacks • Ability to tackle multimodal data (structured/unstructured data, audio, video modalities in real-time) • Familiarity with data warehouses (DataBricks preferred) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Self-starter with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving and a strong sense of ownership • Ability and willingness to travel for internal team gatherings a few days per quarter • Ability and willingness to be on-call on a weekly rotational basis • Open to hiring at different levels for this role
