• Ensuring your team follows all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as industry specific regulations • Identifying unsafe conditions in underground headings • Overseeing the drilling of holes using hand-held pneumatic drills • Ensuring the installation of rock bolts is performed as per approved methods • Guiding the installation of other ground support components as required such as welded wire mesh and shotcrete • Supervising the installation or repair of mine services such as vent tubing and pipes using various lifting equipment such as scissor trucks chain blocks and hand tools • Coordinate day to day ground control requirements • Assess all excavations and supervise the installation of ground support in development or reconditioned areas as per plan and section as the development progresses • Keep track of all advances and communicate to superintendent and cross shifts footages and volumes
• Minimum five (5) years of related supervisory experience in development mining • Strong understanding of safe work practices in mining operations • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions • Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and productivity • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
