📋 Description

• Independently prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (HGB) for our German entity (GmbH) • Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledgers • Establish and book provisions and accruals (e.g., personnel provisions, prepaid expenses) • Fixed asset accounting including valuation, additions/disposals, depreciation, and fixed asset schedule • Prepare tax returns (VAT, corporate income tax, trade tax) and reconciliation schedules • Calculate deferred taxes and resolve tax-related matters • Plan and conduct fixed asset inventory including CAPEX controlling • Serve as the contact person for auditors and tax auditors • Accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting (invoice processing, dunning, maintenance of open items) • Coordinate payroll with an external payroll provider • Support payment transactions and treasury (bookings, balance reconciliations, payment runs) • Regulatory reporting (e.g., VAT listing to Bundesbank, Z4 report) • Prepare analyses and reports on balance sheet items and tax issues • Coordinate accounting matters with the Portuguese tax advisor for our Portuguese subsidiary

🎯 Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in balance sheet accounting and 3 years of relevant professional experience in finance • Degree in economics/business administration or a comparable commercial qualification with additional certification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter IHK) • Solid knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and experience in preparing tax returns • Proficient in fixed asset accounting and very strong Excel skills; experience with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., DATEV) • Experience with group accounting/consolidation is a plus • Practical experience in internalizing accounting previously handled by an external tax advisor • Analytical thinking, strong affinity for numbers, structured, meticulous and solution-oriented working style • Strong communication skills, team player, able to work under pressure and reliable
