đź“‹ Description

• Investigate claims against insurance or other companies for personal, casualty, or property loss or damages • Attempt to effect out-of-court settlements with claimants • Handle complex local losses unassisted up to designated authority • Assist on larger losses, including business interruption and stock accounting-based losses • Examine claim forms and records to determine insurance coverage • Interview, telephone, or correspond with claimants and witnesses • Consult police and hospital records • Inspect property damage to determine the extent of company liability • Estimate repair, replacement, or compensation costs • Prepare findings reports and negotiate settlements • Recommend litigation by the legal department when settlement cannot be negotiated • Attend litigation hearings • Revise case reserves in assigned claims files • Assist in preparing loss experience reports and calculating adequate future rates • Support the organization's quality programs • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred • Must have earned the IIA-AIC designation and be actively pursuing another professional insurance designation • Appropriate state adjuster license is required • Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required • Strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products • Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting • Strong customer service skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Good time management and organizational skills • Ability to work independently or in a team environment • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies • Ability to travel as required
