• Handle losses and claims for property and casualty insurers • Examine insurance policies and other records to determine insurance coverage • Interview and correspond with claimants and witnesses regarding claims • Inspect property damage and determine extent of company's liability • Estimate cost of repair, replacement, or compensation • Prepare report of findings and negotiate settlement with claimant
