📋 Description

• Build and maintain a SQL Server data warehouse and ETL processes sourcing from enterprise applications and SharePoint • Replace cursor-based SQL Server data cleansing with Python-based processing • Catalog and document ETL workflows and interdependencies • Design and modernize pipeline orchestration, including credential and secrets management • Establish source control, dependency management, and reproducible analytical environments • Design deployment processes for ETL and analytics code across development, test, and production • Conduct statistical analysis, regression, predictive modeling, machine learning, and text analytics • Perform exploratory analysis and implement automated data quality controls • Evaluate model performance and refine analytical methods • Maintain a technical backlog and sequence data security and quality remediation • Design, build, and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports, dashboards, KPIs, and performance-tracking products • Diagnose and resolve Power BI performance problems • Develop custom Python visualizations and publication-quality tabular outputs • Respond to rapid-turnaround data calls from senior leadership and external inquiries • Produce technical documentation, system maps, and process flow diagrams • Translate ambiguous stakeholder questions into measurable analysis • Consult on enterprise application data design • Present findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or advanced analytics • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree • Advanced SQL and hands-on experience with on-premises Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning • Strong Python for data work, including dataframe manipulation, numerical computing, programmatic charting, and SQL Server database connectivity • Demonstrated Power BI development experience with DAX, Power Query, semantic model design, and performance optimization • Experience building and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS or comparable tools • Applied experience with regression, classification, time series forecasting, clustering, segmentation, dimensionality reduction, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, and uncertainty quantification • Working knowledge of version control and Python environment/dependency management • Experience assessing analytics environments and producing design options with trade-offs, dependencies, and implementation paths • Ability to document work clearly and communicate analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA background investigation and PIV credential • Must be a U.S. citizen • Preferred: experience with Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Machine Learning, Power BI CI/CD, advanced visualization, tree-based ensemble methods, text analytics, experiment tracking, SharePoint/Power Platform collaboration, VA/VHA/federal health IT, or Microsoft PL-300/DP-100 certifications
