📋 Description

• Collaborate with Shakepay teams to provide practical, actionable legal advice that enables the company to move quickly while remaining compliant. • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts. • Monitor and interpret changes in financial services regulation, privacy law, and crypto — and turn them into opportunities. • Participate in the development of new products and features, identifying legal risks early and designing creative, business-focused solutions. • Implement scalable processes to make legal work more efficient and impactful. • Work closely with regulators and outside counsel as needed. • Grow rapidly through mentorship from senior leadership and exposure to a broad range of legal and strategic challenges.

🎯 Requirements

• LL.B. or J.D. and active membership in the bar of a Canadian province. • More than 4 years of legal experience (law firm or in-house). • Strong foundation in commercial and corporate law, particularly contracts and negotiation. • Excellent judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Proactive, adaptable, and entrepreneurial mindset. • Genuine curiosity about fintech, crypto, and the impact of technology on financial services.
