📋 Description
• Visit claim sites to evaluate property damage and replacement/restoration requirements • Review the claims process with customers and help them submit required information • Determine whether claims are covered and explain coverage decisions • Prepare scopes of loss for claims with building damage • Secure, evaluate, and approve contractor quotations • Assist customers with repairing or replacing lost or damaged property • Negotiate settlements, arrange payments, and finalize claims • Prepare reports and request payments • Adjust smaller claims over the phone • Identify policies requiring underwriting review • Maintain training and industry knowledge • Work closely with customers and contractors to restore damaged property • Collaborate within a supportive claims team and receive coaching, mentoring, training, and tools
🎯 Requirements
• At least 3 years of property claims insurance experience • At least 1 year of field claims adjusting experience • At least 1 year of tenure with a recent employer • A high school diploma • Some post-secondary education preferred • A CIP designation or working towards this designation • An adjusting license in Ontario or can obtain one immediately • Superior analytical and decision-making skills • Effective communication, active listening, and questioning skills • Conflict management skills • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
