📋 Description

• Own SEO across step.com, including on-page optimization, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, and technical audits, partnering with web engineering to ship fixes • Drive the Money 101 blog end to end through editorial strategy, keyword and topic research, daily content planning, publishing, writing, freelance and AI-assisted production, and content audits • Optimize content for LLM and AI-search visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews • Build Step’s authority through backlink acquisition and digital PR • Optimize social channels, especially YouTube, for search visibility • Partner with Performance and Affiliate teams to optimize ad and affiliate content • Establish E-E-A-T signals and partner with legal/compliance on financial-marketing requirements • Own reporting on rankings, traffic, conversions, and AI citation share

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years in SEO and content, including at least one role owning strategy and hands-on execution at a consumer app, fintech, or growth-stage startup • Strong writing and editing skills, with ability to produce polished, accurate personal finance content daily • Demonstrated success growing organic traffic through keyword strategy, on-page SEO, technical SEO, and ranking content • Working knowledge of AEO and GEO, including how LLMs and AI search platforms select, summarize, and cite sources • Hands-on experimentation with optimizing content for AI search platforms • Experience with YouTube SEO or video content optimization • Fluency with Ahrefs or SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4, and schema/structured data • Experience running backlink and digital PR campaigns • Ability to manage a daily publishing operation, technical roadmap, and experiments simultaneously • Personal finance or fintech experience is an advantage • Familiarity with Contentful and light HTML/CSS is an advantage • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
