📋 Description

• Provide expert legal advice and support to internal stakeholders and teams within THL’s U.S. and Global Programs departments • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to negotiate, draft, and review contracts • Advise on legal issues related to 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) tax status and compliance • Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memoranda on various legal issues • Serve as the Legal department’s liaison to the IT team, supporting policy development • Manage the organization’s intellectual property portfolio • Assist with organizational compliance, governance, employment, human resources, and development issues • Provide mentorship to junior legal staff

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school • Member in good standing of the bar with license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction • Extensive legal experience commensurate with a senior counsel role (approximately 10+ years of practice) • Comprehensive understanding of defamation, First Amendment, intellectual property, and privacy law • Skilled at legal research and analysis of legal data and information for strategic decision making • Ability to build trust, manage interpersonal dynamics, and resolve conflicts effectively • Excellent communication skills, conveying complex legal concepts clearly across formats • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options and manage crises • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail • Ability to navigate changes with resilience and seek innovative solutions • Strategic thinking for long-term objectives and operational policies
