📋 Description

• Teach Introduction to Japanese Language and Culture (ASTD 135) remotely • Engage students through frequent interaction that motivates success and conveys energy and enthusiasm for learning • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of learning through problem- and project-based demonstrations • Provide regular constructive feedback using rubrics to assess student work and acknowledge accomplishments • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise • Help students connect concepts across their academic program • Provide feedback to the program director on possible curricular improvements • Successfully complete the online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in Japanese, Japanese Studies, Japanese language pedagogy, Japanese linguistics, East Asian Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning • Three (3) years of experience teaching the Japanese language • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred • Candidates with international degrees may be required to submit a translation/degree evaluation from a NACES approved vendor • Resume/Curriculum Vitae • Cover letter highly preferred
