• Technology Research & Landscape Scanning Continuously monitor the evolving landscape of water resilience and infrastructure technologies, including: Decentralized and distributed treatment systems Water harvesting, reuse, and circular water innovations Nature-based and hybrid infrastructure monitoring tools AI, IoT, and digital twin platforms for water and resilience optimization Atmospheric water generation, biofiltration, and regenerative soil technologies Track innovations and trends across adjacent sectors—energy, defense, smart infrastructure, and climate technology—for application to Versar projects. • Technology Vetting & Evaluation Assess technologies using Technology Readiness Level (TRL) frameworks and related Readiness Levels (e.g., Investment and Adoption Readiness Levels) to determine suitability for pilot, deployment, or scaling in federal contexts. Evaluate vendors and partners for technical maturity, scalability, reliability, and alignment with DoD, FEMA, and EPA requirements. Conduct due diligence on potential partners, including financial strength, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and past performance. Develop standardized evaluation matrices to score technologies by performance, lifecycle cost, resilience metrics, and environmental co-benefits. • Strategic Recommendations & Proposal Support Recommend which technologies and firms are best suited for Versar partnership, pilot programs, or proposal integration. Support federal and municipal proposal teams by identifying innovative, field-ready technologies aligned with agency objectives (e.g., DoD installation resilience, FEMA BRIC, EPA SRF). Develop concise technology briefs, white papers, and market intelligence inputs to strengthen proposals and position Versar for innovative procurements. Match technology solutions to project types—from watershed restoration to base water resilience and distributed reuse systems. • Collaboration & Integration Partner with engineering, environmental, and program management teams to translate innovation insights into executable design and delivery strategies. Work with finance and business development leads to align emerging technology partnerships with Versar’s investment and client strategy. Support concept development and pilot project design for novel water resilience technologies.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental engineering, systems engineering, water resources, sustainability, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in technology assessment, innovation management, or applied research in water, climate, or infrastructure sectors. • Familiarity with the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) framework, related Readiness Levels (e.g., Investment and Adoption Readiness Levels), and federal technology vetting processes. • Strong understanding of distributed water systems, resilience planning, and sustainability technologies. • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize technical data into executive-level recommendations. • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple research tasks with minimal supervision. • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration. • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.
