Beschreibung

• Serve as a preceptor and mentor to CDI team members • Deliver formal education to staff and healthcare providers • Develop, maintain, and track education, training materials, tools, and documentation audits • Conduct and coordinate CDI staff training, orientation, onboarding, skill assessments, and annual competency assessments • Perform concurrent, retrospective, and secondary clinical chart reviews • Audit charts and clinical queries for compliance with query guidelines, policies, and workflows • Provide performance feedback and corrective education to CDI staff • Track and report individual and group quality metrics to CDI, HIMS, and executive leadership • Design and develop provider education materials and programs • Promote standardized CDI-related provider education across the organization • Analyze and distribute CDI audit and chart-review data • Deliver data insights to support strategic and tactical business opportunities • Configure and troubleshoot applications and equipment used for data • Collaborate with CDI leadership and system-wide teams on clinical documentation improvement initiatives • Act as a CDI subject matter expert and ICD-CM/PCS trainer • Work with internal healthcare leadership and external vendors and regulatory agencies

🎯 Anforderungen

• Minimum 5 years of acute-care inpatient hospital clinical experience • Minimum 2 years of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) experience • Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent experience • Registered Nurse (R.N.) license in the state worked • Solid understanding of DRG methodologies, coding rules, regulations, and ICD-10-CM guidelines • Familiarity with AHIMA Guidelines for Compliant Query Practices and the ACDIS Code of Ethics • Functional knowledge of computer-assisted coding software • Knowledge of clinical documentation methodologies, documentation improvement opportunities, and clarification guidelines • Ability to work independently • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Effective written and verbal communication and time-management skills • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team • Ability to work at least 75% of the shift within 7AM to 7PM AZT/MST • Must be self-motivated and possess moderate to strong technology skills • CCDS certification preferred within 12 months of starting • Previous training, teaching, coaching, and mentoring experience preferred • Knowledge of adult learning principles preferred • Previous EMR, CDI/Coding, and IT application experience preferred • Knowledge/use of Cerner preferred • CDIP, CCS, or CPC certification preferred
