Beschreibung

• Review, analyze, and select sources of supply and vendors • Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery of feed ingredients • Evaluate alternative suppliers and ingredient quality and specifications • Create purchase orders and contracts when applicable • Place vendor orders and complete purchase orders in the ERP • Address vendor quality discrepancies • Communicate ingredient supply issues to business functions and the Purchasing Manager • Collaborate with Global Grain Marketing personnel to reduce cost of goods • Build working relationships with Plant Managers and Production Teams • Develop purchasing strategies for assigned ingredients • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance with unsafe actions or conditions • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned

🎯 Anforderungen

• High School diploma or GED • 4+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, purchasing, and commodity trading/merchandising • Prior experience and knowledge of the feed industry, ingredient purchasing and logistics, relative value merchandising, and formulation activities • Advanced knowledge of Purchasing Best Business Practice, math, and ethics • Manufacturing purchasing experience, preferably within the animal nutrition industry • Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to influence and negotiate • Strong decision-making skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Teams) • Selected candidates may be required to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science/Nutrition, Ag Business, Ag Economics, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
