Beschreibung

• Lead EW’s after-hours news operation • Oversee writers and serve as the primary editorial decision-maker during the assigned shift • Curate the news list and assign and edit stories • Handle breaking news and focus coverage on the biggest entertainment stories • Prioritize assignments based on editorial importance and audience interest • Pivot coverage as news develops and lead edits • Ensure the edit queue is cleared before the end of the shift • Help writers strengthen news judgment and identify, advance, prioritize, and close out major stories • Make independent editorial decisions during off-hours when senior leadership is unavailable • Manage and provide feedback to writers • Report and write entertainment access stories and news

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent work experience • Minimum 3-5 years of experience, with at least 2 years in an editing role • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills • Strong knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and the EW brand • Ability to generate new and fresh story ideas • Good time management and multitasking skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment • Experience with SEO, social media, content management systems, analytics tools, and Photoshop • Availability for Monday-Thursday 2pm-10pm PT and Sunday 12pm-8pm PT • Must meet employment authorization requirements verified through E-Verify
