Beschreibung

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team spanning software engineering, product development, machine learning applications, and agentic development • Build a high-performing engineering culture centered on ownership, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement • Establish expectations, goals, career development paths, and performance standards • Recruit and retain engineering talent and develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders • Define and evolve technical strategy and architecture for user-facing applications and services • Guide architectural decisions and technical tradeoffs across the product lifecycle • Balance product delivery with reliability, scalability, maintainability, and cost • Establish engineering standards and practices and drive technical risks and dependencies to resolution • Partner with Product and Deployment to translate requirements into engineering plans • Own engineering execution against product and technology roadmaps • Create planning and development processes providing visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and resources • Remove organizational and technical blockers • Coordinate hardware and software development across design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance • Incorporate field deployment feedback into product and engineering decisions • Improve system availability, performance, observability, security, and operational resilience • Establish testing and validation practices across hardware, embedded software, and cloud systems • Partner with Deployment and Operations on installation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management • Develop processes for diagnosing and resolving complex production and field issues • Ensure systems scale to a national-level sensing network • Collaborate with Product, Deployment, Data Science, Data Engineering, company leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders • Communicate technical strategy, roadmaps, tradeoffs, and risks clearly

🎯 Anforderungen

• 10+ years of engineering experience, with significant experience leading engineering teams and organizations • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing senior engineers and/or engineering managers • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across two or more of: hardware, embedded systems, edge computing, backend software, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems • Experience building and operating products combining physical hardware with software systems • Proven experience scaling engineering teams, processes, and technical infrastructure as a company or product grows • Strong technical understanding of modern software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and production systems • Experience establishing engineering standards, development processes, testing practices, and operational excellence • Demonstrated ability to make sound technical and organizational decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments • Strong track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering talent • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences • High effectiveness and communication working in a remote and distributed team • English proficiency is required
