Beschreibung

• Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of AC power substation projects • Perform physical substation design with support from protection and control, civil, and other engineers • Apply and specify substation equipment • Lead technical teams and coordinate contractors, vendors, customers, project managers, and engineering teams • Manage scheduling, standards and specifications compliance, value engineering, design review planning, engineering-hours budgets, and quality assurance and control • Develop and oversee single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, arrangement drawings, grounding and conduit/trench drawings, cable routing, detail drawings, and control-building layouts • Develop high-voltage bus, structures, equipment, and wiring arrangements • Prepare bills of materials, studies, and calculations • Act as the primary technical contact for customers, vendors, project managers, and engineering teams • Direct and support engineers and designers to meet technical specifications, budgets, and timelines • Drive cross-discipline coordination for integrated substation solutions • Review and contribute to inquiry-to-order process deliverables, conceptual engineering, proposal documentation, sourcing support, vendor quotation evaluations, and technical clarifications • Prepare high-voltage equipment specifications and contractor work scopes • Support vendor engagement and equipment selection • Lead subcontracted design work scopes when needed • Assist with team productivity and billable utilization • Ensure engineering outputs meet customer critical-to-quality requirements and are delivered on time and within budget • Support commissioning and customer-project stakeholder interface efforts

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university • Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial or utility HV/EHV substation design • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel, in compliance with company travel and tax policies • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the U.S. in good standing, with ability to obtain licensure in other states • Willingness to use the professional engineering license • Experience with North American electric utility substation design standards • Expertise in transmission and distribution substation engineering for utility and renewable energy projects • Expertise in primary outdoor substation design, calculations, and electrical protection • Experience in industrial power system design at 12.5 kV and above • Proficiency in battery sizing, DC system design, and AC auxiliary power calculations • Proficiency in power transformer and circuit breaker selection • Proficiency in conductor sizing and application • Proficiency in grounding, lightning protection, and insulation coordination • Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and NESC standards • Ability to develop complete engineering packages without detailed customer specifications • Field-testing and commissioning experience with strong emphasis on safety • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills • Customer-facing communication and commercial awareness, including change orders and project delivery • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and design automation tools
