Beschreibung

• Ensure high-quality protection scheme designs for T&D substations, data centers, industrial, and BESS applications, including one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, and relay settings • Review, optimize, and seal protection and control designs with a P.E. stamp • Lead and coordinate P&C technical aspects of AC power substation projects • Review, optimize, and seal auxiliary-system single-line diagrams and detailed designs • Review load-flow, fault, relay-setting coordination, and transient studies • Develop or review outage, cut-over, and testing procedures • Implement and support IEC 61850 process- and system-bus architectures • Interface with internal teams, external team members, customer technical representatives, and support organizations • Review post-fault records to confirm correct system operation • Lead or support factory acceptance testing and site testing and commissioning • Develop proposals, technical specifications, man-hour and material estimates, vendor quotations, clarifications, exceptions, and technical responses • Apply technical problem-solving and Lean techniques • Develop design templates and tools for the secondary design engineering team • Define processes and procedures, perform root-cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and validate process control • Support quality initiatives including ISO 9002 • Mentor the secondary design team and provide technical direction • Represent GE with external standards committees such as IEEE • Potentially serve as project engineering manager for small- to medium-sized secondary-engineering-focused projects • Drive business strategy through technical and economic understanding of the marketplace and provide customer solutions • Continuously update technical knowledge in support of grid transition needs

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college • Must have a P.E. License in the US • Minimum 10 years of experience in system protection schemes, relay selection, primary equipment interface requirements, operational analysis, communication systems, and maintenance practices for transmission, distribution, and generation protection applications at AIS and GIS substations • Minimum 10 years of experience in design reviews and technical mentoring • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, including internationally, for meetings and on-site commissioning tests • Compliance with company travel and tax policies • Extensive experience in protective-relaying coordination and practices • Understanding of circuit breakers, fuses, circuit switchers, transformers, shunt reactors, capacitor banks, harmonic filters, HVDC, and FACTS systems • Must be a member of a standards committee such as IEEE or show willingness to become one • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Organized, passionate, and goal-oriented • Able to work under pressure and handle change and complexity in dynamic environments • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
