Beschreibung

• Deploy innovative and digital services that solve public-interest challenges for New Jersey residents • Deliver public-facing digital products in collaboration with product managers, product designers, content designers, and diverse stakeholders • Write code, translate user needs into technical decisions, map technical options, and act as a solution architect • Own features end-to-end, from planning and architecture through front-end interface design and development • Apply human-centered design, open-source development, data-driven decision making, and agile development practices • Participate in user research, analysis, and synthesis • Manage project teams and coordinate activities between teammates • Build the technical capacity of the team and State • Establish and coordinate development processes • Collaborate with in-house department and agency technical teams • Provide plain-language counsel on technical matters to team members and stakeholders • Facilitate conversations with New Jersey residents, state partners, and government officials • Execute additional duties and responsibilities advancing the mission • Report to the Engineering Director and collaborate with the Initiative Director to align team work with the Resident Experience portfolio strategy

🎯 Anforderungen

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development • Prior experience in civic technology strongly preferred • Experience across the development stack, including frontend web applications, backend APIs and databases, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and pipelines • Experience with modern JavaScript, React, CSS, HTML, JavaScript libraries and frameworks, linting, and best practices • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) • Experience with SQL and NoSQL document store persistence • Experience with Git/GitHub version control • Experience executing full lifecycle software development, from ground-zero development through production application management • Experience writing well-designed code, high-quality automated tests, infrastructure, debugging issues, ensuring system uptime, and documentation • Experience using human-centered design, agile iterative development, and data-driven decision making • Proven ability to tackle problems with curiosity, engage in inquiry, and understand user needs • Commitment to engineering excellence, public service, accessibility, and fostering an inclusive society • Must be authorized to work in the United States • May be required to pass a background check and complete additional application and onboarding steps
