Beschreibung

• Serve as the single technical and people leader for the student-facing team • Own professional development, career growth, and performance management for direct reports • Lead the team’s culture, technical direction, and execution • Partner with the Product Manager to evolve team processes toward faster delivery and rapid learning • Stay hands-on in the codebase through inbound technical work, bug fixes, compliance work, technical debt, and smaller features • Own technical debt within scope and provide technical depth across projects • Challenge technical approaches and act as the team’s primary technical representative • Model effective AI-assisted development for the team • Monitor and act on team health • Build relationships with direct reports and understand ongoing projects • Establish 1:1s, performance conversations, and career development practices • Own technical decisions and architectural direction • Identify and correct technical or product-design issues before they become delivery problems • Lead process evolution and experiments jointly with Product • Serve as a recognized technical authority for the team’s domain

🎯 Anforderungen

• Strong, current hands-on software engineering experience; regular code writing and review required • Prior experience owning both technical direction and people management • Readiness to handle technical direction and people management simultaneously • Ability to independently represent the engineering function without a separate Tech Lead • Experience with or strong aptitude for AI-assisted development tooling and workflows • Track record of making pragmatic technical trade-offs under delivery pressure • Experience with, or openness to evolving, agile/Scrum-based team processes • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future • Must be based in one of the states where Niche currently has employees
