Beschreibung

• Architect, design, and develop features end-to-end for students, teachers, and school administrators, from the React/TypeScript frontend to the PostgreSQL backend, APIs, infrastructure layer, and data pipeline • Design data models and schemas that remain correct, performant, and maintainable at scale • Build and maintain highly available web and backend systems serving millions of users and thousands of requests per second • Thoughtfully adopt AI tooling to accelerate individual work and improve how the team builds, ships, and maintains software • Maintain and evolve backend services such as curricula-api and progress services powering student practice and reporting • Mentor and support other engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion strong engineering practices • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in a distributed remote work environment • Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure prompt resolution of customer-facing incidents

🎯 Anforderungen

• 5+ years of professional software development experience shipping high-quality web-based software that solves important problems for large numbers of users • Strong full-stack proficiency: hands-on experience with React (or a comparable SPA framework) and TypeScript on the frontend, and building backend services and APIs • Solid data modeling skills and experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) • Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring other engineers • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to thrive as part of an agile, multidisciplinary team • Experience with event-based / event-driven architecture (bonus) • Experience with AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3/CloudFront, ElastiCache, Lambda) and Docker (bonus) • Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and observability/telemetry tooling (Datadog, Bugsnag, or similar) (bonus) • A passion for education and improving outcomes for students and teachers (bonus) • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States • Renaissance is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
