Beschreibung

• Set the technical direction of the Maps teams • Build geospatial systems and integrations supporting foundational features across Samsara products • Scale storage, query, and computational capacity for real-time features • Consolidate team-specific geospatial solutions into scalable platform-wide offerings • Build agentic solutions enabling customers to self-serve desired data views • Raise the technical bar through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship • Partner with engineering leadership on strategic bets and tradeoffs • Represent Samsara externally through talks, open source, and mapping/geospatial community engagement • Collaborate with internal and external customers to iterate and build software platforms

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience • 8+ years building software • At least 2 years in an architect or technical leadership role • Strong programming and design fundamentals • 4+ years working on large-scale distributed systems • 4+ years leading technical projects across multiple teams • Experience with GIS technologies and spatial analysis, including PostGIS, spatial SQL, GeoPandas/Shapely, QGIS, and geospatial data validation • Familiarity with geospatial data formats and open mapping ecosystems, including GeoParquet, OpenStreetMap (OSM), and OSM PBF • Experience ingesting, transforming, validating, or serving geospatial datasets • Legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location
