Beschreibung

• Manage all assigned mortgage litigation cases • Proactively monitor cases, identify risks, and escalate high-risk matters • Work with outside counsel to develop and implement litigation strategies • Prepare written case summaries and discuss matters with counsel and outside investors • Update and maintain the Thompson Reuters Legal Tracker litigation database and report litigation status, strategy, critical events, and dates to management and investors • Track hearings, depositions, motions, pleadings, and other litigation events • Assess new litigation matters and determine risk, resolution, and settlement strategies • Anticipate and plan for all phases of litigation • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, preparing deposition witnesses, and coordinating document production • Manage outside counsel relationships, updates, work efficiency, budgets, and invoices • Assist with subpoenas, law enforcement requests, regulatory requests, special projects, and litigation staff training • Generate reports and provide litigation coverage when team members are out • Respond to email inquiries within 24 hours • Recommend procedural changes and improvements • Research and analyze requests and determine appropriate actions

🎯 Anforderungen

• Extensive knowledge of and experience with laws, regulations, and investor and insurer guidelines governing residential mortgage servicing, including CFPB, GNMA, FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, and FHLMC • Extensive knowledge of and experience with mortgage servicing databases, including MSP, LPS, ICE, Legal Tracker, etc. • Understanding of mortgage loan servicing and default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and loss mitigation processes • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail • Ability to prioritize and maintain a large volume of multifaceted work • Ability to work independently, adapt to a fast-paced and changing business environment, and meet case management goals • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or an Associate's degree from an accredited college plus a paralegal certification • 10+ years of related experience as a paralegal or litigation specialist in mortgage servicing • Experience in the legal department of a mortgage servicer • Proficiency with Legal Tracker or similar litigation case management database, MSP, Black Knight/LPS, Microsoft Office, and Internet Explorer • Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet multiple deadlines
