Beschreibung

• Develop maritime route optimization, vessel performance modeling, and voyage analysis capabilities • Refine optimization algorithms and translate vessel performance and fuel-consumption models into software • Build simulation and evaluation tooling • Improve how route recommendations are scored and explained • Work on maritime voyage optimization and route evaluation • Model vessel performance and fuel consumption across varying operating and environmental conditions • Address voyage constraints, transit time, fuel efficiency, and operational considerations • Contribute to algorithms, models, simulation capabilities, services, APIs, testing, and related software components in Rust and Python • Collaborate with engineers, product experts, and maritime domain specialists • Support existing Sofar technology and new software for government maritime applications • Produce useful, understandable, and defensible optimization recommendations

🎯 Anforderungen

• U.S. citizenship is required for this position • Must be able to successfully pass a background check • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience contributing to production software • Experience with Python and/or a compiled language such as Rust, C++, C, or similar • Comfortable working with algorithms, data structures, and computational problems • Ability to translate domain or mathematical concepts into maintainable, testable software • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working across engineering and domain disciplines • Comfortable working on software supporting U.S. Government and Department of Defense customers
