Beschreibung

• Plan, organize, direct, and participate in wildlife and habitat management projects in District 3 and across the WMD Piedmont Region • Coordinate and collaborate with private landowners, land managers, consultants, corporations, NGOs, and governmental units to conserve wildlife and habitat • Implement agency programs and special assignments, including biological data collection, technical assistance for human-wildlife interactions, animal handling, immobilization drug use for live-animal capture, and wildlife disease/mortality investigations with field necropsies • Assist district staff with frequent human-wildlife interaction issues and outreach programs to reduce negative interactions • Assist with wildlife surveys, monitoring, restoration, and research activities • Prepare and present wildlife programs to public and professional audiences • Attend joint agency and division meetings, plan and monitor projects, provide technical expertise, and assess program status • Report directly to the Regional Supervisor (Piedmont Wildlife Operations Supervisor) • Travel daily, occasionally overnight, and work weekends as needed to meet landowners, attend meetings, and coordinate activities

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's degree in wildlife or fisheries management, fisheries science, zoology, biological science, or closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution, and two years of experience in wildlife or fisheries management • Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify • Knowledge of North Carolina’s wildlife and plant communities, including basic life histories and identification • Experience operating and maintaining equipment and vehicles used in wildlife management, agriculture, and forestry practices • Accomplished communication skills to coordinate with resource professionals, relay technical information to employees, and to the public • Experience with personal computers and mapping software • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail • Valid NC Driver’s License required within 90 days of employment • All employees must provide proof of employment eligibility on the first day of employment • Degrees must be received from institutions appropriately accredited by the U.S. Department of Education
