Beschreibung

• Handle a diverse caseload of Homeowner and Commercial Property and General Liability claims, including litigated and non-litigated claims, habitational risks, premises liability, bodily injury matters, and other non-auto claims, from investigation through resolution • Investigate, analyze, and determine the insurer’s and policyholders’ liability concerning third-party damages and injury • Resolve assigned claims timely, reserve accurately, and handle claims fairly and in compliance with state and company guidelines • Review litigated complaints for proper handling and develop legal strategies with counsel • Work with multiple external/outside attorneys and provide direction related to liability and damages • Correspond and communicate with policyholders, agents, experts, and service providers to analyze loss information • Calculate damages payable under the policy and make payments after determining liability • Evaluate and apply the insurance contract to claim resolution • Create and maintain comprehensive claim-handling notes in the electronic claims management system and related applications • Review and evaluate large-to-complex injury demands and negotiate appropriate resolutions • Monitor defense counsel for accurate and efficient handling of litigated matters

🎯 Anforderungen

• 5+ years of experience as a casualty/general liability adjuster • 5+ years of litigation experience in a multi-state environment • Skilled technical background and hands-on experience in general liability and casualty claims • Proven ability to direct and oversee defense counsel, establish legal strategies, ensure proper experts are retained, and assist in cost containment • Understand basic legal strategies in conjunction with venue particularities • Currently licensed or eligible for licensing as an adjuster in TX, FL, CA, and NY • Experience drafting initial coverage letters is a plus • Relevant experience with habitational risks, premises liability, and bodily injury matters is a plus • Experience directing or monitoring outside defense counsel on litigated matters is a plus • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred • MS Office environment proficiency • Experience using video and chat technology (MS Teams & Slack) • Familiarity with claims operating systems (IMS/LSS/Symbility) • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity • Designated quiet work-from-home space
