Beschreibung

• Support all product design programs through fluid analysis techniques • Use hand calculations and steady CFD to predict fluid behavior throughout engine systems and components • Build steady-state and transient 1D engine fluid-system models to predict component operating states and engine startup behavior • Identify design improvements and collaborate with engineering teams to meet system-level requirements • Work with the test team to request instrumentation for analytical model validation • Support anomaly investigations by recreating engine-operation measurements with transient 1D fluid models • Own fluid models for rocket engines and related systems across concept, clean-sheet, and mature-system designs • Improve analytical methods and develop new approaches and tools • Provide professional development, mentorship, and technical guidance to peers • Assess hardware risk and performance and provide proactive design feedback • Report to the Propulsion Analysis Team Lead

🎯 Anforderungen

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable field • 5+ years of combined fluids analysis experience in CFD and 1D modeling • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics using commercial codes; ANSYS Fluent or CFX preferred, with StarCCM+ or similar tools welcome • Experience developing steady and transient 1D fluid-system models • Demonstrated experience in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer • Programming experience; Python ideal, MATLAB or other high-level languages acceptable • Basic experience with 3D CAD software; Creo and NX ideal • Experience with complex fluid-mechanical systems involving combustors, turbomachinery, and control systems • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment • Prior experience working on safety-critical systems in production environments • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance • Must be a U.S. Person, including U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents • Ideal qualifications include an M.S. or PhD, 10+ years of experience, specialty CFD applications, transient phenomena modeling, cryogenic/high-pressure/two-phase/supercritical fluid analysis, and professional rocketry or turbomachinery experience
